Today saw us play our final game of a long season which ended 0-0 against an AFC Bridgnorth team that have been constantly improving throughout the season.
Firstly, I hope the AFC Player who got injured today is ok as it looked a nasty one and hopefully not as serious as it looked and we wish him a speedy recovery.
It was a great final game of the season with two teams wanting to finish the season with a positive note and to me both teams can be happy with.
After two back to back wins and two clean sheets it was a must for us to not let that be forgotten about with an end of season vibe to the game.
I can’t thank the players enough today for the energy and desire to push for another 3 points in a game that was pretty much even but with us having the better of the chances which just wouldn’t fall for us.
The key is always if you can’t win a game make sure we don’t lose it and today saw us get the 3rd clean sheet on the bounce.
I’d like to thank all the supporters today and a big mention to two young supporters that got to have pictures with the players which to me is what non league is all about and we need more of.
I’ve enjoyed stepping in until the end of the season against all odds, I’ve met so many great players with great attitudes that have come in and done a great job, the players that have been here from the start have been a huge credit to the club and themselves and I can’t thank them enough.
The youth team lads who have been ever ready when called upon have not looked fazed by any challenge they have come against.
Since I came in the players, supporters, womens team and the whole Gornal youth section have all been fantastic with me and I can’t thank you all enough.
