The Gaffer spoke last night following our fantastic 6-2 win at Saltley Stallions. The hosts opened the scoring but the Peacocks answered with six goals before a lapse in concentration at the end allowed Saltley to add a consolation second goal.

“Good Performance, definitely a good performance, we were a lot more positive, on the front foot. Pitch is excellent as well so fair play to them I can’t believe the game is on with all the weather we’ve had. I just thought we were really good, for 90 minutes everybody played their part so it was a good performance and I’m really pleased.

“I’m not going to lie, in the changing room before the game they were very quiet and lethargic but you have to understand this is midweek and people have travelled probably an hour/hour and a half, they’ve had busy days. I’ve heard one had a fitness test at work, he’s had something else you know. So I’m not surprised by the first 10 minutes but I think once we got the first goal, because we scored it relatively early, I think it just settled us and we moved on from there.

“They’re (Saltley) a good team, Welly Amateurs are a good team, Pelsall Villa are a very good team but we’ve come in and we’ve got the results and the hard bit is for them to go and do it again on Saturday and then go again and again. But that’s what we have to do and that’s what they want to do.

“Gornal Colts on Saturday, their manager I’ve heard of him. He’s been around a long time, a good manager, established. It’ll be a very difficult game, probably didn’t need that game after this game if I’m honest but it is what it is and we’ve got to deal with it. We know it’ll be difficult but like everything we’ve got to embrace it, look forward to it and get on with it.”

We make the short trip to The Dell Stadium on Saturday to face Gornal Colts
