It is with great sadness that I am informing you of my decision to step down as Manager of Gornal Athletic Football Club. It was not an easy decision to make as it’s certainly been a memorable experience for me.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the players, coaches and staff who have been with me and supported me for the last three years, you have been tremendous, I have enjoyed working with you all very much. I would like to extend my gratitude to the Chairman, Owners and Committee for their support and commitment, you have been brilliant to work with and made the whole experience enjoyable.

Last but by no means least I would like to thank the supporters that have been there in large numbers. 200-300 supporters at home to cheer us on and create a wonderful atmosphere at Garden Walk is almost unbelievable. The social side of the club was perhaps what made us such a successful unit, the support of the wider Gornal Community, the whole club, their extended families, supporters and The Bulls Head Public House helped us to come together socially in a way I have never seen at any other club I have been involved with and for this I thank you most of all.

I would like to wish everyone all the best for the coming season. If anyone reading this would like to be the new Manager, I would encourage you to apply immediately, it’s a great job to have!
