Wellington Win at Garden Walk
By Ashley Davies
Missed chances prove costly against Amatuers.
Gornal started the game brightly with Dreniz Bala having a couple of efforts off target.
Sam Prince want also denied by a smart double save, as well as Bala before the scoring was opened in great fashion by Gornal with Myles Hall playing in Sam Prince who crossed low to Geoff Hill for a tap in.
Gornal stayed in the ascendancy for the most part with dangerous plays throughout the half, Hill and Bala really creating opportunities but Gornal missed a hat full.
Amateurs had an effort well held by Ash Green before the keeper tipped over an effort from the edge superbly.
The second half saw Amateurs a little more busy but Sam Prince pace got him in on goal but was denied by another good piece of keeping.
Unfortunately you miss chances and you'll get caught out. Gornal did. A free kick and a header hit the post. Green ran out to the rebound, the striker went down, penalty awarded. Harsh from our view but Gornal really shouldn't have put themselves in that position. The penalty was dispatched.
Two minutes later Gornal were undone again by a long ball and a simple finish. That then saw the end of Geoff Hill and Dreniz Bala through injury.
Amateurs added a third before the end with a through ball and finish to leave Gornal somewhat disappointed.
