Gornal Downed in Added Time by Bromyard
By Ashley Davies
Late drama at Garden Walk as Bromyard score two in a minute to defeat the Peacocks.
The game started with Bromyard grabbing an early lead through Ryan Derricks. The midfielder spotted Jack O'Day off his line and sent a volley goalwards from the half way line. The ball went over the keeper and bounces once before hitting the back of the net. Sometimes you just have to say, it was quite a good goal.
Gornal nearly levelled through Dreniz Bala soon after as his effort whistled past the far post.
He did level it on 25 though as the striker was the first the react to a Myles Hall shot that hit the bar. Bala would finish at the second attempt to get his first goal back at Garden Walk.
Gornal went into the break down as on half time a long punt up field caught out Halwest Wahab. The Bromyard forward Cassey got to the ball, rounded O'Day and finished.
Gornal came out and created chances through Bala and Hill but couldn't level it until 70 when Bala and Hill combined to finally see Hill beat two defenders and then finish at the near post with a powerful strike.
Gornal then took the lead as the rain hammered down with Nathan Griffiths putting a superb through ball to Hill, he outpaced all, rounded the keeper and slid the ball home.
Just eight minutes plus added to see it out but the conditions and nature of the game meant you never felt the drama wasn't over. And it wasn't.
Bromyard levelled in controversial circumstances as the referee awarded a free kick all thought should've gone to Gornal. The free kick came in and a small scramble after saw Wellings finish. After the game the referee admitted his terrier but it was a very costly error for Gornal.
Off that kick off Bromyard won it. Joe Drake Cervantes played the ball to the away side defenders they drove forward, played it into Wellings who ran his man and fired hard and high at the near post to win it for Bromyard. Straight from kick off.
The final bit of action, again came from the officials poor decision minutes ago that led to the Bromyard leveller as Joe Drake Cervantes in frustration showed dissent to the referee who sent him off to finish the game.
